Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar left season 27 of The Bachelor going strong after a series of dramatic endings for the franchise.
The sales exec met the travel nurse during the premiere of his season, which filmed in fall 2022 and started airing in January 2023. Shallcross and Biggar hit a rough patch during overnight dates when he confessed that he slept with Gabi Elnicki after previously deciding that he didn’t want to have sex on the show. Elnicki was subsequently angry at the lead for breaking her trust and revealing what happened behind close doors.
“Going in [to] fantasy suite week, I just wanted to use that time — that intimate time — to just get to know each other more on a more emotional level and just see what we’re like off the cameras too. I was just looking forward to that,” Biggar told Us of how Shallcross handled fantasy suites. “And, obviously, I was really excited for our day date and the kayak and whatnot, and, obviously, that turned a little sour pretty quick. But, in Bachelor world, things don’t always go as planned, so I don’t think I really went in with a whole lot of expectations. I was just hoping it would go smoothly and we hit a hurdle for sure. But in the end, we came out stronger.”
The pair did come out stronger than ever and Shallcross proposed during the March 2023 finale. During After the Final Rose, which aired live following the finale, the couple revealed their plans to move in together in Austin, Texas — and their hopes to wed in 2025.

“You are so handsome!” Biggar said when she got out of the limo. “A fun fact you should know about me is that I’m also from Austin, Texas, and judging from what I can see right now — everything is bigger in Texas.”

Biggar received extra attention from Shallcross during week 3 – landing a one-on-one date with an overnight component at the Natural History Museum.
“I was super shocked when he asked me to spend the night at the museum. Super excited, though,” she explained on the “Click Bait” podcast after the episode aired. “I know that doesn’t really happen on the show. I didn’t really know what to think of it at the time, but when we walked around the corner and saw the camp set up with the tent, I was blown away. I thought it was so cute and so romantic.”

"I didn't think it could be me, that I could experience a big love, a love that you only read about in books, that you only see in movies," she said before accepting the Neil Lane rock. “I built my walls up so high that I couldn't see past them, and then you stepped into my life and, Zach, every moment that I spent with you, my walls came tumbling down. … I'm so in love with you. I'm so crazy about you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Shallcross called Biggar the “love of my life” in his first post-finale Instagram upload.
“This woman right here deserves the world and I’m beyond thankful to have her in my life,” he gushed. “I fall in love with you more and more each and every day. I love you best friend 💜🐬.”
In the comments section, she responded: “I love you so much❤️ so excited to do life with you baby!! 🥰.”

The twosome achieved their goal of moving in together less than one year after announcing their plans.
“Officially our new home,” Biggar shared via her Instagram Stories while showing off the outside of their two-story home.
