Attack! Micah Reveals Role in Cowboys $100 Million Free Agency Plan

One of the key business transactions for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason will be the contract negotiation for Micah Parsons.

With Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, both paid at the top or near the top of the market, Micah was expected to follow suit. But it appears that Parsons is going to do what he can to make sure his contract doesn't handicap the team in free agency.

COO Stephen Jones made recent noise regarding the salary cap and hinting that 2025 could follow a similar pattern of tight purse strings. That flies in the face of the reporting of own Mike Fisher, who is detailing how Dallas can easily create $100 million in cap room.

And now Parsons is chiming doing his bit to help his team.

Micah stated that he doesn't "need" $40 million APY and revealed that he doesn't intend to hold out for his new contract, either.

"I'm going to try to work with them (Cowboys front office) as much as possible to attack free agency," Parsons said. "I want to be back with this team, this offseason I want to be here, I want to get these guys right, I want to take big steps. So hopefully it can be done sooner than later, and that way we can attack other things."

So Parsons is doing his best to counter what Stephen Jones stated earlier, and he is willing to do what it takes to make sure the purse strings won't be tight this offseason.

Able to have up to $100 million in cap room by flipping built-in contractual switches on Dak and CeeDee's contracts, along with the signing of Micah, the Cowboys will have money to spend. ... If they want to.

So don't let the front office fool you into thinking that they won't be able to go out and sign decent free agents because if they want to, they can.

And it appears Parsons is doing his best to force their hand - or maybe hold their hand - this offseason.
