Are the Dolphins Trading for TE Mark Andrews? FS1 Host Believes So

As training camp nears, the Dolphins are still putting the finishing touches on their roster.

Miami has been rumored to be interested in numerous free-agent cornerbacks who are still available on the market.

A couple of weeks back, they traded Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith to Pittsburgh and acquired Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Miami then traded for Darren Waller and acquired him from the New York Giants.

But is Miami done addressing the tight end position?

Not according to Craig Carton of Breakfast Ball on FS1.

Recently on the DolphinsTalk Podcast, he stated that he believes Miami will trade for Mark Andrews, the Ravens’ tight end, in the coming days or weeks to help replace the loss of Jonnu Smith.

If you’re wondering why the Ravens would possibly trade Andrews, well, it’s not as far-fetched as it seems.

The Ravens have two outstanding tight ends in Andrews and Isaiah Likely, who are both in the final year of their contracts.

The Ravens will not be able to re-sign both after this season, and one of them will be leaving via free agency. Andrews is pushing 30, Likely just turned 25 and has a longer future in the NFL and in Baltimore and it is expected the Ravens will decide to keep the younger player with more years in front of him.

Meaning, this is probably Andrews’ final year in Baltimore. So, trade him now and get something in return for him before he leaves, and you get nothing.

Andrews is a 3 time Pro Bowl Tight End and has been named an All-Pro once in his career. He has 436 career receptions, 51 career touchdowns, and has caught for over 5,530 yards.

In 2024, he started 13 games, had 11 touchdowns, 55 receptions, for 673 yards.

There have been some rumors that Andrews may be on the block this offseason, but many have felt that, because the Ravens are legitimate contenders to win the Super Bowl this year, they would hold onto him, have two outstanding tight ends on their roster to have the strongest roster possible.

But maybe they are looking to move him?

And before you dismiss that this is coming from Craig Carton, he has broken many stories in the past. Most recently, he was the first person to report that Dalvin Cook was signing with the NY Jets a few years ago, and had that information before the rest of the NFL Insiders.

So, Carton’s track record on breaking stories is legitimate.

That doesn’t mean this one will be accurate, but you can’t dismiss it either.

If Andrews does end up in Miami, he would be the Dolphins’ most accomplished tight end they have had in many years and would be an instant upgrade to this offense.
