Antonio Pierce Makes Pro Bowl Case For Linebacker Robert Spillane

The 2024 NFL season has only three weeks remaining, which means the Pro Bowl is quickly approaching. While the Raiders may not be playing for anything but pride for the remainder of the season, Antonio Pierce is still fighting for his guys.

Pierce recently took a moment on an episode of Raiders Rundown to make the case for why Robert Spillane belongs in the Pro Bowl.

"The most positive, encouraging, no flinching, no blinking mindset, that you can have as a example," said Pierce.  "A captain, a leader of your team. He [Spillane] is Pro Bowl worthy, he's one of the better linebackers in the league, if I watch from afar, I'm like damn I want 41 on my team."

Spillane has been one of the better free agent signings by the Raiders in recent history coming over from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Through 15 games in 2024 he has 76 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions.

While the Pro Bowl may seem like a formality for fans, for the players there is some financial incentive to make it. The winning conference will receive $88,000 while the losing squad will receive $44,000. So although the games have become background noise for some fans, the players do have some serious cash on the line.
