Andrew Thomas opens up training camp on PUP list in Giants concern

As the team hits the field Wednesday for the first practice of training camp, Thomas will not be taking his spot on the offensive line.

He opens up camp on the physically unable to perform list.

Thomas was limited to only six games last season before he went down with a Lisfranc injury that required foot surgery.

In 2023, Thomas played in only 10 games, as he was forced out with a serious hamstring strain.

It is believed this will not be a long-term stay on PUP for Thomas — at this point, the Giants are considering him day to day.

A recent comment about his availability for the regular-season opener did raise a few eyebrows.

“I’m feeling good,’’ Thomas told the team’s in-house “Giants Huddle” podcast. “Just taking my time with it. Don’t really have a projection right now, but I’m doing everything that the trainers are telling me and hopefully, I am ready to go.’’

The Giants also put running back Eric Gray on PUP, put outside linebacker Victor Dimukeje on the non-football injury list and waived/injured safety Anthony Johnson Jr.
