Analysts Predict When 2025 Ravens’ Super Bowl Push Will End

Getting over the Super Bowl hump has become increasingly elusive for the Baltimore Ravens, despite a roster that’s been firmly among the most talented in the NFL. The 2025 Ravens should be even better thanks to the addition of Pro Bowl talents like wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and cornerback Jaire Alexander, yet analysts are still predicting more pain in the franchise’s quest for a third Lombardi Trophy.

Three-time former Super Bowl winner Mark Schlereth told Fox Sports’ Breakfast Ball why “the Ravens win the AFC. They will represent the AFC in the World Championship game.”

Most of Schlereth’s belief is based on the recent addition of ex-Green Bay Packers corner Alexander. According to Schlereth, “that signing of the DB Jaire Alexander helps them more than all the whiners in Baltimore that say ‘you got to get us more wide receivers, Lamar Jackson doesn’t have enough wide receivers.'”

“All the whiners in Baltimore say, ‘You got to get us more wide receivers… This to me is a HUGE for the Baltimore Ravens. This to me cements them.”

It’s a bold take considering the Ravens have essentially won and lost on the arm talent and rushing ability of two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. Getting the franchise quarterback more weapons is never a bad idea, and the Ravens have done so this offseason, rather than choosing Alexander over adding receiving talent, the way Schlereth suggests.

While the former guard who won Super Bowls with Washington and the Denver Broncos didn’t commit to the Ravens winning the big game, another analyst was more specific.

So much so, NFL.com Analyst Bucky Brooks believes “this is the year Jackson finally gets the monkey off his back and guides the Ravens to the Super Bowl. The confetti might not fall on No. 8’s shoulders, but the ‘Bullies of Baltimore’ will finish the season in Santa Clara, California, competing for the Lombardi Trophy.”

More Super Bowl Disappointment Looms for Ravens

While the Ravens would welcome returning to the league’s showpiece game for the first time since the 2012 season, coming up short on the biggest stage would be a bitter blow. It would mean more questions about Jackson’s ability to win when it matters most.

Those doubts have extended to the Ravens as a whole in recent years. A belief has grown they can dominate the regular season, but are physically vulnerable and mentally fragile amid the pressure of playoff football against the best teams.

Fair or not, this belief has been borne out by high-profile defeats to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2023 AFC Championship Game, when coaching let down the Ravens. This painful defeat was followed by losing a heartbreaker to the Buffalo Bills in last season’s Divisional Round, when a normally reliable All-Pro faltered in crucial moments.

Those losses help form an unwanted 3-5 playoff record for Jackson, per StatMuse. The 28-year-old has grown increasingly frustrated by coming up short, but this year’s Ravens look better equipped to take the next step.

2025 Ravens Better Equipped to Beat Closing Super Bowl Window

These Ravens are better because Jackson has arguably the deepest stable of receivers of his career. Acquiring Hopkins and re-signing Rashod Bateman shows the Ravens are finally making wideout a priority.

Add in dynamic third-year pro Zay Flowers, along with a second-year burner head coach John Harbaugh has high hopes for, and Jackson has what he needs to stay dominant. Meanwhile, tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely will remain viable in the passing game and important to a ground attack led by two-time league rushing champion Derrick Henry and welcoming back game-breaking speedster Keaton Mitchell.

The offense that led the league in yards last season looks stronger, while the defense got a boost from signing Alexander, “the 2nd highest graded CB in single coverage since 2021,” according to Pro Football Focus.

His arrival, along with selecting Malaki Starks and last season’s college football sack leader Mike Green in the 2025 NFL draft, keeps an improving defense formidable. Successfully replacing five-time All-Pro kicker Justin Tucker will be a tricky ongoing process, but the Ravens still look stronger and more explosive than last season.

Strong enough to not only reach the Super Bowl, but to win the prize.
