Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Booker and Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson got up close and personal with some NHL hockey game Sunday.
The two former teammates were sitting right behind the glass - can only make you smile.
Booker, the 12th overall pick in April’s NFL Draft was like a kid in a candy store, eating up all that Game 3 of the Dallas Stars’ second-round series against the Winnipeg Jets had to offer.
He admitted he was like that kid, wanting a puck to commemorate the big day. He was in awe of how hockey players could combine balancing on the skates with hitting with such force. He marveled at the fandom from the stands and openly admitted he was there for the fights.
Both even made rocked Stars’ jerseys, and, before it was all over, led the crowd in a cheer.
Booker did admit one drawback, though.
“These seats are not big-man friendly,” he said.
Simpson asked Booker if he was going to start listening to country music since he is now in Dallas. He revealed there are certain types of country he likes.
The New Haven, Conn. native was a two-year starter for the Crimson Tide. He was a captain for this past season
The 6-foot-5, 325-pound Booker opted to forego his final year of eligibility and enter the draft. He earned second-team All-America honors, and was named first-team all-SEC by both the Associated Press and the league’s coaches.
Simpson, meanwhile, has been close friends with Booker, supporting the lineman and linebacker Jihaad Campbell at the NFL Draft.
As AL.com reported, Simpson, Booker and Campbell began their time in Tuscaloosa the same year. All three were 2022 recruiting class classmates.
