Alabama injury report: Kendrick Law update Wednesday before Vanderbilt

The SEC released the first version of this week’s availability report for all conference matchups this weekend. That includes Alabama vs. Vanderbilt.

Kalen DeBoer Gives Injury Update on Kendrick Law, DeVonta Smith

Alabama receiver Kendrick Law was listed as questionable. Meanwhile, linebacker Justin Jefferson was listed as probable. No other players were listed for Alabama.

Law sustained a lower-leg injury against Georgia.

“Definitely not a sure thing,” Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said Wednesday. But DeBoer didn’t rule him out for the game just yet and would see how Law progressed.

Law has caught two passes for 41 yards and one touchdown this season. He’s also been a valuable blocker for the offense.

No. 1 Alabama (4-0, 1-0 SEC) and Vanderbilt (2-2, 0-1) will face off Saturday (3:15 p.m. CT, SEC Network) in Nashville.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt included eight players on its report. That included three players listed as out: Zaylin Wood, Mark Davis and Grayson Morgan. Two are questionable: Boubacar Diakite and Joseph McVay. Three are probable: Loic Fouonji, Dontae Carter and Khordae Sydnor.

McVay has one reception this season for a 65-yard score. Fouonji has two receptions for 28 yards. Carter has three tackles and two passes defensed.

The SEC will release more three more availability reports before the game, including Thursday, Friday and Saturday before kickoff. The conference now mandates these reports from teams ahead of conference matchups for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

“This availability reporting policy is intended to reduce pressure from outside entities seeking participation information and represents a commitment of our 16 institutions to provide enhanced transparency to support efforts to protect our student-athletes and the integrity of competition,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement announcing the policy.
