Alabama football transfer portal target set to visit

Alabama football hasn’t been the most active in the spring transfer portal window, but it’s not dormant either.

The Crimson Tide is set to play host to in-state transfer tight end Brody Dalton soon, his manager Corey Williams told AL.com Friday.

Dalton is from Fyffe and started eight games this past season for the Trojans in his junior season. He’s listed at 6-5, 250 pounds. Dalton spent his redshirt freshman and freshman seasons at UAB.

This past season, Dalton finished with 15 receptions for 188 yards and three scores. In 2023, he caught five passes for 88 yards. At UAB in 2022, Dalton secured four receptions for 63 yards.

Alabama could use some depth at tight end. By the end of the spring, Jay Lindsey was the only healthy scholarship tight end. Josh Cuevas and Danny Lewis Jr. figure to be the top two options, but it would be helpful for the Crimson Tide to supplement with a veteran tight end.

“I think there’ll be some (activity), I guess from our standpoint, any way you can improve the roster, we will do that,” Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said of the transfer portal. “So we’ve been very good at, I think, the last portals in December, that window there.”
