Alabama football likely losing veteran WR to transfer portal: Report

After Alabama football was snubbed from the College Football Playoff, the transfer portal news was bound to come fast and furious. As such, Kendrick Law reportedly plans to enter the portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Law is one of three wide receivers planning on leaving Alabama thus far. Kobe Prentice and Caleb Odom are also both reportedly on their way out of Tuscaloosa via the transfer portal.

The portal opens Monday for undergraduate players. It will remain open for entry for 20 days.

Law spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide, joining as a recruit in the class of 2021. He started four games this season, alongside Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard, and played in 10 of UA’s 12 games.

The junior suffered through some injury troubles in 2024. He finished the regular season with 10 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Law did earn praise from Alabama’s coaches for his fierce run-blocking effort.

“Kendrick has developed himself into being really our enforcer at the position,” Alabama wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard said in August. “I take a lot of pride in the group really blocking on the perimeter and being violent in our blocking but having tremendous technique.”

Despite being left out of the playoff in favor of SMU, Alabama’s season isn’t fully over. The Crimson Tide will play Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the game announced on Sunday.

The Crimson Tide and Wolverines will kick off at 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 31 in Tampa. The game will be aired on ESPN.
