Alabama football lands 4-star recruit over Tennessee, Texas

   

Alabama football has landed the sixth commit of its 2026 recruiting class.Alabama Lands Commitment From Blue-Chip Recruit With 34 Letters in His Name  - Athlon Sports

Sam Utu, whose full name is Kayden Samuelu Teteleopesega Utu-Lilii, has committed to the Crimson Tide, he told On3 on Monday.

Alabama beat out Texas, Tennessee, SMU and Washington for Utu’s services.

Utu is a four-star offensive lineman, ranked the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite. He’s ranked No. 176 overall. At 6-4, 320, Utu plays for Orange Lutheran in Orange, California. Utu is also ranked the No. 19 overall prospect in the Golden State.

Alabama offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic is listed as Utu’s primary recruiter.

 
 

Utu becomes the second offensive lineman along with Chris Booker in the 2026 class. Other recruits committed so far include cornerback Jorden Edmonds, athlete Zyan Gibson, edge defender Jamarion Matthews and edge defender Kamhariyan Johnson. Edmonds is the only five-star prep.
