Alabama football has flipped a former Michigan commit.
Ivan Taylor, a four-star defensive back, announced Monday he has changed his commitment to the Crimson Tide.
“Happy to announce my commitment to the University of Alabama,“ Taylor posted to social media. ”I’m blessed for the opportunity, and I look forward to playing for Coach DeBoer and his staff. Roll tide!”
The 247Sports Composite lists Taylor as the No. 7 safety and No. 59 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. Taylor is listed at 6-foot, 174-pounds from Winter Garden, Florida. 247Sports lists Ike Taylor as his father, who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for a decade and won two Super Bowls.
The new Alabama commit gives Alabama its 21st prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He’s the fifth highest-rated prospect in the group behind the four five-stars who headline the class in quarterback Keelon Russell, offensive lineman Michael Carroll, cornerback Dijon Lee and offensive lineman Ty Haywood.
Taylor joins Lee and Chuck McDonald as the three defensive backs committed in the class.
