Alabama basketball loses starter to transfer portal, reports say

Jarin Stevenson won’t be part of the Alabama men’s basketball roster for a third consecutive season.

Stevenson, who started 22 of 37 games this past season, will enter the transfer portal, according to reports Wednesday by 247 Sports, The Athletic and On3. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Stevenson has a “do not contact” tag in the portal, an indication he already has a destination in mind.

Stevenson, a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, reclassified and joined the Crimson Tide a year early for the 2023-24 season. He played in 37 games and started five. His most notable game occurred in the Elite Eight when he scored 19 points, making five triples, to beat Clemson and secure Alabama’s spot in its first ever Final Four.
