The NFL offseason continues to deliver compelling storylines, and few are more intriguing than the situation surrounding Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Trade speculation has dominated headlines for weeks, but concrete developments remained elusive until recently.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided significant clarity this week during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
The insider revealed his expectation that Ramsey will be moved before training camp begins, with the veteran defensive back reportedly expressing interest in a West Coast destination.
“Jalen Ramsey will get traded,” Schefter said. “It’ll be, I would expect before the start of training camp. We’ll see how it shakes out, where he goes. I think he would like to go to the West Coast. To Los Angeles. Rams, Chargers, something like that.”

The Los Angeles Rams connection carries particular weight given Ramsey’s history with the organization.
While the franchise hasn’t made public overtures toward a reunion, the 30-year-old cornerback was recently spotted training in Los Angeles alongside former Rams safety Eric Weddle.
That connection makes sense considering Ramsey’s productive tenure with the team from 2019 to 2022.
During those four seasons, he earned three Pro Bowl selections and an All-Pro nod while recording 242 combined tackles, 10 interceptions, and 47 pass breakups.
The Rams traded Ramsey to Miami in 2023, but their secondary struggles last season create a compelling case for his return.
The defense allowed the 26th-most passing yards in the league, with largely the same personnel returning.
A reunion wouldn’t come cheap, but Ramsey represents a clear upgrade for a unit seeking improvement.
The question remains whether Los Angeles will meet the asking price or if Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers will emerge as the frontrunner for the star cornerback’s services.
