New York Jets' franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been absent from the mandatory minicamp, opting instead for a trip to Egypt, but his teammates don't seem fazed.
The 40-year-old is prepping for his second season with the Jets, hoping to bounce back after an Achilles injury in the first week of 2023 cut his campaign short. Despite the setback and the team's disappointing season, with Zach Wilson struggling to step into Rodgers' boots, the squad appears supportive of his recovery journey and his recent absence.
Rodgers, who suffered a season-ending injury in the opening win against the Buffalo Bills, missed the crucial minicamp, but according to SNY, the team was informed about his Egyptian getaway and players have reportedly said they have "zero issues" with him missing out on the June event.
After going all-in on Rodgers before the 2023 season, the Jets are still chasing their first playoff appearance since 2010. Rodgers himself seemed pumped for the season during an interview on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, saying: "I love it. We are must-watch TV. And that's pretty obvious. Everybody knows that. Whether you love me or hate me, people wanna see me play."

"They enjoy watching me play. And we are a team to watch this year. Not surprising. Six prime-time games in the first 11 or 12 weeks. I love it. You know, make it difficult."
The Jets also had a successful haul in the 2024 NFL Draft, snagging a top offensive line prospect. With the 11th pick, they secured Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu, a move that Rodgers confirmed was met with enthusiasm by the Jets' front office amidst a significant overhaul of the offensive line.
