The insufferable Aaron Rodgers took center-stage again on Wednesday to drop a trio of bombshells as he put the new management of the New York Jets on blast while also, if you listen closely, should be taken as warning shots fired at his potential employer the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rodgers remains the top veteran quarterback available in free agency ... and he remains available because the failed Jets "leader'' hasn't pulled the trigger and signed the offer the Steelers have put on the table.
Well, that and maybe the NFL has figured out that this era's No. 1 drama-queen diva simply isn't worth the trouble?
How long has it been now? Free agency opened on March 8. Rodgers was dumped by the Jets officially on March 12.
And while Rodgers is making time to do a (paid?) appearance on ESPN' PatMcAfeeShow, he's taking his time otherwise - and causing the Steelers to sit on their hands.
And right about now he's also causing the Jets to celebrate the fact they washed their hands of him. Indeed, that is ...
BOMBSHELL No. 1 - "The Jets wasn't a good conversation ... "The confusing thing is I went out there, we start talking … he (coach Aaron Glenn) runs out the room. ... 20 seconds in ...
"It was a debacle.''
OK, so what about, you know, actually playing football and the $30 million contract that awaits him in Pittsburgh?
BOMBSHELL No. 2 - Said Rodgers: "I'm open to anything and attached to nothing. So yeah, retirement still could be a possibility. But right now my focus has been and will continue to be on my personal life."
He added, "I told every single one of the teams I talked to that it ain't the money and I would play for $10 M's. ... I don't care.''
(Yes, he called them "M's.'')
And about that timetable?
BOMBSHELL No. 3 - "Listen,'' he said, "this entire time I haven't felt like I owed somebody any decision at some point. ... I've been upfront with (the Steelers) about that. If you need to move on, call me, by all means. ... There's been no deadline. And yeah, I've talked to Mike (Tomlin) many times."
"I'm not holding anybody hostage.''

I've been up front with all of them..

A month of waiting, stalling and foolishness.
He's visited the facility. Said nice things about the Rooney family. And even worked out with new receiver DK Metcalf.
But he doesn't owe anything to anybody.
That's Aaron Rodgers, immature even at age 41, and a lover of drama over football.
What did this interview really accomplish? Only the reinforcement of the above facts.
