Aaron Rodgers disputes his most embarrassing pick from Jets' loss

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw two picks to help the Pittsburgh Steelers trounce the Jets, 37-15, on Sunday. But Rodgers’ most embarrassing pick of the day came while he was on the bench having a Gardner Minshew moment.

Cameras caught Rodgers picking around his nostrils before sticking his fingers in his mouth. Immediately, the internet erupted with accusations of booger eating. However, the 40-year-old QB set the record straight during his weekly appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show.”

“I’ve actually never eaten my boogers,” Rodgers told McAfee. “That’s one thing I’m very proud of. … It’s a tough look to try and defend, because that video, it’s a little incriminating, but I can tell you that there needs to be a side view that shows there wasn’t a [booger] that actually went in the mouth.”

Rodgers may not have chowed down on a fresh-picked snot ball on Sunday, but he did eat a bad loss to the Steelers. He threw just one touchdown in the game to go along with 276 passing yards, and his verified picks both turned into touchdowns for Pittsburgh.

Even the addition of superstar receiver Davante Adams couldn’t help New York put up much of a fight on Sunday. Now 2-5, the Jets face a daunting uphill climb to even get within sniffing distance of the postseason.

Rodgers, who has thrown just 10 TDs and racked up seven interceptions so far, doesn’t look like he has enough gas left in the tank to carry his team up that hill — unless he has some late-season magic stored in his nose. If that’s the case, Jets fans surely hope he digs a little deeper next time.
