The NFL offseason is nearly fully underway, but there have already been some monumental moves ahead of the official opening to free agency on March 10.
The Washington Commanders have traded for Deebo Samuel, the Las Vegas Raiders have re-signed Maxx Crosby, and the New York Jets have decided to move on from Aaron Rodgers.
One star player made headlines with a trade request this week, and one NFL insider says there's already a massive trade offer on the table for them.
According to senior NFL insider Josina Anderson, one team is already prepared to send the Seattle Seahawks "at least" a third-round pick for star receiver D.K. Metcalf.
That's more than the Commanders needed to send the San Francisco 49ers for Samuel over the weekend, and it's one of the initial offers Seattle is receiving after Metcalf's trade request.
Metcalf's trade request reportedly comes after multiple conversations with the team, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"We will do what's best for the Seahawks," a source close to the team told ESPN.
Trading Metcalf would save the Seahawks nearly $11 million in cap space, but they would also incur $21 million in dead money for this season. Metcalf, a two-time Pro Bowler, is looking for a new deal in the final year of his current contract.
He's set to make $18 million this year, but appears to want a new contract in line with the production he's given the team throughout his career. The Seahawks selected Metcalf in the second round of the 2019 draft, and he's had at least 900 receiving yards in each of his first six seasons.

Metcalf nearly had 1,000 yards last season for the fourth time in his career, but he missed the mark by less than 10 yards while missing two games.
The Seahawks are looking to get back to the NFL playoffs after missing out last season. The Los Angeles Rams won the NFC West and were the only team to qualify in what is usually one of the league's strongest divisions.
We'll see what happens over the next few days and weeks when it comes to Metcalf and some of the other star players in the league who could be on the move. The Seahawks have an offer on the table, and we'll find out if they consider it a baseline for a potential trade.
