A.J. Terrell Contract Details as Atlanta Falcons Sign CB To Mega-Deal

The Atlanta Falcons broke the bank to sign one of the key pieces of head coach Raheem Morris’ defense.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter , the Falcons signed homegrown cornerback A.J. Terrell to a colossal four-year contract worth $81 million, which makes the 25-year-old the seventh-highest-paid cornerback in the league, by total contract value.

Terrell’s deal includes $68 million fully guaranteed, according to ESPN, which easily bests L’Jarius Sneed’s new deal with the Tennessee Titans, which calls for $51.5 million fully guaranteed, resetting the market at the position.

Cornerback has become a premium position across the league, viewed by front offices and coaching staffs as essential to winning championships, so it isn’t difficult to see why the Falcons would want to both lock up and reward No. 16 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

A.J. Terrell Staying put with Atlanta Falcons

Through his first four seasons, Terrell has produced 247 total tackles while pulling down four career interceptions.

Re-signing Terrell underscores the Falcons’ commitment to building a dominant secondary, after adding standout safety Jessie Bates as a free agent in 2023 and inking Justin Simmons earlier this week as the regular season opener looms.
