A.J. Brown strongly endorses new Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo

The Philadelphia Eagles are suffering from success. That's what happens when a team wins the Big Game. All of the other teams from across the league's landscape see the success and want to emulate it. They try to do that by poaching coaches and signing away key contributors.

A.J. Brown strongly endorses new Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo

When the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl 57, they lost both their offensive and defensive coordinators after the season. This time around, they only lost their OC, as Kellen Moore is now the head coach in New Orleans.

The Eagles wasted little time in identifying a replacement for Moore, as pass game coordinator Kevin Patullo promoted to the role. The Eagles didn't conduct a sweeping search. Quite the opposite actually. They had their guy, and they tried to preserve some organizational consistency by keeping the hire in-house.

A.J. Brown thinks Eagles made 'great' move by promoting Kevin Patullo to OC

While some fans and media members might have liked to see a more extensive search for Moore's successor, Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown is a big fan of the hire, and he sent an optimistic message to fans in Philadelphia who might be disappointed about another major change at the position.

"For our fans, they need to understand everything has to change," Brown said, via NFL.com. "I know we just won, but it has to change. We have to get better, and we have to do things different. But I truly feel like it's a great hire. [Kevin] already has been involved in almost everything. Him, Kellen [Moore] and Nick [Sirianni]basically called the plays already.

"So, it's a great hire and he's already familiar with us. We have a great relationship, and he knows what we need to work on because he's been there, and he's been there for a while, and like I said, he's already been a part of all the situations and the conversations and everything. So, I think it's a great hire."

Hearing Brown speak so highly of the move should put skeptical Eagles fans at ease. After all, we know Brown isn't a guy who is going to sugarcoat things, or is scared to speak his mind. If he didn't agree with the decision, we'd probably know about it. Other players have also expressed excitement about the move.

Promoting Patullo was the closest that the Eagles could get to some consistency at this point, so it certainly makes sense in that regard. After all, the team has had a different offensive play-caller every single season since Jalen Hurts was drafted in 2020.

Considering how good the offense was in 2024, it's logical that the team would want to build off of that and pick someone not only familiar with the system, but someone involved in its development and execution. Plus, it's not like there was a surefire better option out there.

Patullo certainly has some big shoes to fill replacing Moore, but if Brown's endorsement is any indication, he should be up to the task.
