4 takeaways as Boston Celtics crush Suns despite missing Jayson Tatum

The Celtics never trailed on Wednesday night, dominating the final three quarters on their way to a 132-102 blowout win over the Phoenix Suns. It was the seventh straight win for Boston and all the more impressive considering it came without Jayson Tatum (ankle) in the lineup. Without him Kristaps Porzingis (30 points) led a balanced Boston scoring explosion as six different players scored in double figures.

Boston and Phoenix looked set for a shootout early on as the two teams combined for 80 first quarter points with both teams shooting over 60 percent from the field. However, the Celtics were the only team able to sustain that offense as they locked up the Suns scoring attack in the second quarter and broke the game open with a 20-2 run to take a 19-point halftime lead. The domination continued in the second half as the visitors pushed out their lead to as many as 34 points to improve to 4-0 on their six-game road trip.
