4-star LB Jaedon Harmon flips commitment from Alabama to Tennessee

Alabama football’s 2025 recruiting class took a hit on Sunday, when Jaedon Harmon announced he was flipping his commitment. The Rome, Ga. native now plans to attend Tennessee instead of joining the Crimson Tide.

Tennessee football flips 4-star LB Jaedon Harmon from Alabama for 2025

“I want to thank the entire Alabama staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play for a great great program,” Harmon wrote in a social media post announcing the news on Sunday. “Respect my Decision.”

Along with Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel, Harmon, a four-star linebacker according to the 247Sports composite rankings, tagged Volunteer LBs coach William Inge in the post. Inge previously worked on Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer’s staff at Washington.

The 247 composite currently ranks Harmon as the No. 18 linebacker nationally. He’s listed as the No. 155 player in the nation.

He had 80 tackles, including eight for loss and five sacks, during his junior season in 2023. Harmon had committed to Alabama in April and visited Tuscaloosa since.

Harmon’s decommitment left Alabama with 19 current commits in the 2025 class, which will be DeBoer’s first full cycle as the Tide’s head coach. UA’s group remains ranked No. 2 on the 247 sports composite, behind just Ohio State.

Tennessee’s class is ranked No. 6. LSU, Georgia and Auburn sit between the Volunteers and the Crimson Tide.

Alabama has several other linebacker commitments in the 2025 class, even without Harmon. UA’s class currently includes five-star Darrell “Duke” Johnson, four-star Dawson Merritt and three-stars Abduall Sanders Jr. and Luke Metz.
