The Detroit Lions are currently at OTAs for the next few days, and then they're going to be cancelling mandatory mini-camp and taking a break before they report to training camp early in what is expected to be mid-July. That gives them time to make a trade to bulk up this roster just a little bit more before they get into the full swing of things.
With that idea in mind, here are three trades that the Lions could pull off before camp time.
Lions get: Odafe Oweh
Ravens get: 2026 fourth-round pick
This isn't the first time I've brought this one up. Oweh was in trade rumors right before the 2025 NFL Draft. The former 31st overall pick has been pretty decent for the Ravens, but maybe not as good as they'd hoped he'd be. he has not been a full-time starter for them since they drafted him in 2021.
The Ravens just took Mike Green in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and the Ravens opted not to sign him to an extension this offseason. He's going into the final year of his contract.
Here's the chance for the Ravens to get something for him. In Detroit, Oweh would be a starter for the Lions. If he performs well, Detroit could work out a deal for him. If he doesn't, they don't have to.
Lions get: Foster Moreau
Saints get: 2026 sixth-round pick
It wasn't too long ago that the Lions tried to sign Moreau when he was a free agent, and it didn't work out. They drafted Sam LaPorta shortly after. The Lions spent a lot of time looking at tight ends this offseason, and they signed Kenny Yeboah, but didn't draft anyone.
LaPorta is the guy, but the Lions clearly have interest in a second tight end who can run and pass block as well as catch some passes. Moreau would be an upgrade over Brock Wright.
The Saints have a solid tight end in Juwan Johnson and just drafted Molokai Matavao. They could decide to move off of Moreau ahead of his final contract year and try to get out of those void years he has.
Lions get: Cameron Jordan
Saints get: 2026 sixth-round pick
Hey, it's another trade with the Saints. The potential trade of Cameron Jordan has been one that's been talked about all offseason long.
The thing is that the Saints feel like a team that needs to hit the reset button a little, and cap-wise, they're not in a good spot right now.
This is probably going to be the last season of Cameron Jordan's career, and he's said that he does not want to leave the Saints, but that he'd go if he had to. In Detroit, he gets the shot to win a Super Bowl on the way out and be a big part of that as well.
Jordan can still play and play well, but he's not the Pro Bowl guy anymore. Still, he's a veteran worth having to help the young guys along and chip in solid play. It's worth the trade.
