Not so long ago, some speculated that the Minnesota Vikings would lose Justin Jefferson.
With Kirk Cousins out of the picture, and given how long it took for him to sign a contract extension, some argued that he could force his way out of town.
Clearly, that wasn’t the case.
Jefferson’s unwavering commitment to the organization remained the same, and he had an outstanding campaign despite playing with a new signal-caller.
That was evident in a tweet shared by “The 33rd Team” on X.
Per their stats, Jefferson ranked No. 2 in the entire league among the most explosive pass-catchers last season.
He posted a 35.9% in terms of explosive reception percentage, trailing only Denver Broncos star WR Courtland Sutton in that regard.
Notably, his numbers were better than those of other star wideouts, such as Puka Nacua, George Kittle, Drake London, among many others.
Jefferson finished the campaign with a whopping 103 receptions for 1,533 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 14.9 yards per catch, and that’s despite constantly facing double teams.
The LSU product has established himself as one of the most dominant pass-catchers in the game, and his pairing with J.J. McCarthy will hopefully be as productive, if not more.
He’s no longer the highest-paid wide receiver, but it might not be long before he reclaims that spot with his next contract extension.
Even if that’s not the case, he has a chance to become the greatest wide receiver in franchise history, and that’s a lot for a team that also had Cris Carter and Randy Moss.
